LFB attends French and international conferences

The 10th International Haemophilia Conference, the 10th BIC, was held from 6 to 8 September 2019 in Italy. This annual event provides the opportunity to present recent developments in the field of rare coagulation disorders and on Von Willebrand disease in particular. This year, LFB presented updated data on this disease.

 

 

The French Haemostasis Congress took place from 25 to 27 September 2019 in Montpellier. This combined congress held jointly by the French Haemostasis and Thrombosis Group (GFHT) and the Medical Coordination Committee for the Study and Treatment of Haemophilia and Haemorrhagic Diseases (CoMETH) brought together all the haemostasis stakeholders in France. This national event is attended by nearly 500 French professionals specialised in blood coagulation disorders. Various topics related to haemostasis disorders diseases were discussed, with a particular focus on haemophilia and its new treatments, including gene therapy, but also a look on haemophilia in the world, such as the example of Burkina Faso and Congo, and an update on new laboratory haemostasis tests.

LFB took part in this congress as a sponsor and focused on the latest knowledge about Von Willebrand Disease. Health professionals presented some of their projects: data about the quality of life, reports on angiodysplasias in Von Willebrand factor deficiency and finally a point on the surgical context.

 

LFB was also present at the SFAR annual congress, the French Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, held in Paris from 19 to 21 September 2019. More than 5000 participants attended the 102 thematic sessions, 39 talks, 10 debates and 43 workshops focused on the theme of perioperative medicine. The opportunity to remind that LFB participates in the health care professionals lifelong training, using innovative virtual simulation tools, to train to certain traumatic shocks, or in case of cardiac surgery.
